ARC REVIEW: LOVE ME BY CHRISTMAS by Jaci Burton

Hello! I'm a little late with this revision, but this has been a loss of control in my home. I am sorry.

I wanted to share with you a short, sweet and romantic story, that's perfect for christmas. Are you ready?

A sexy, standalone novel from the New York Times & USA TODAYbestselling author of the Play-by-Play series and Hope series.

Ellie Washington lost her husband in a tragedy five years ago at Christmas. She wouldn’t have made it through her grief if not for her husband’s brother, Nick, who helped her pick up the pieces of her shattered life. And with every year, her feelings for Nick have grown. Now she realizes she might be in love with him, but that’s not fair, because Nick deserves a life that isn’t about his brother’s widow and son.

Sharing his life with Ellie and her son has been the balm that soothed Nick’s soul after losing his brother. Now that friendship has turned into something deeper. Nick doesn’t want to upset the status quo, but someone has to make the first move, and it’s time they figure out if their feelings are real. Nick believes in what they have. He also believes in Christmas miracles, and he thinks they’re both long overdue for one.

I'd read Jaci Burton books before, and one of the things you may know about them it''s how intense they are, and how she drag you into the feelings poured into the stories page after page.

In this book we met Ellie, she lost her husband five years before and now she feel it's time to move on. The memory of John is still present in her heart... and to live, to feel, isn't easy for her. Despite that, Ellie tries to put a smile in her face, looking as a normal person, just for her son Henry.

Here we also know Nick. He's John's brother and Ellie's support through the years. They grieved together for his brother, also together they started to raise Henry as a happy kid. Nick loves Ellie's son. And... well, he loves her too. But he wasn't aware of those feelings.

Until now...

I enjoyed this book a lot. I loved how the characters were realizing about their feelings. It wasn't some kind of insta-love. It was something that born and grew up through the years without them to noticed it.

It was heartbreaking how Ellie fought against her feeling, thinking she was betraying her late husband. I tried to put myself in her place and cried my eyes out. Her inner turmoil, how her body reacted to Nick's presence but also how her mind keep reminding her that was a mistake.

The story will keep you turning page after page wondering if these lovers will have their happily ever after, or if the pride and the fear will break them apart. I invite you to discover it. I promise you will love the book.
