It's always cool to discover a new side of a known author, when a writer you know is bold and take the risk and write something different. That's something pretty cool. I met Aleatha Roming with a Thriller duet and fell in love with her writing, then she wrote PLUS ONE and I loved it. Now she's promoting her new novel ONE NIGHT, and if her previous Romantic Comedy was great this one is AWESOME!
With an exhilarating rythm and deep characters the author constructed a story sweet, funny and romantic about second chances in love, family and friendship. A story filled with sassy dialogues that will make you laught out loud, but also with touching moments.
Mandy is a widow, mother of a kid that is about to start in the school. Her family and her best friend has been her support system since she lost her husband, but she was so concentrate in being a mom that she forgot to be a woman. Her friend set up a blind date with one of her husband's friends, but something happened last minute.
Malcom is an ex hockey player who moved to a new city to start in a new job. His live has changed, but he's cool with those changes. One of his teammates set up a blind date with a "nice woman" and despite he wasn't sure about that date he attended. But his friend and that woman never came to the venue. Not that he has a problem with that, specially when there is a gorgeous woman near him and he's about to make his move.

The story flows among secrets, sexting, doubts, coincidences and sweaty passionate sex. Mandy and Malcolm felt attracted to one another since the beginning and their chemistry is explosive. Little by little they will let fall the walls around them and will take a chance on love. It's scary for both, but it's easier when you take the journey one night at a time.
