#Review ROYALLY SCREWED (Royally #1) by Emma Chase

I bought this book a few months ago, right before the second book was released, and I hadn't had the chance to read it until now.

With the 3rd installment of this series coming soon, I thought it was a nice moment to share with you a little bit of fantasy, humor and romance.

Here we go!

This modern fairytale started introducing Prince Nicholas. He's the Crowned Prince of Wessco. A smart polite, handsome and caring man, who's supposed to lead his country as king. He was prepared for that mission. Every day of his life was projected to train him as a future king. There's only ONE problem with that project. The prince HAS TO get married. And he's not ready yet. Not even a little.

When his grandmother The Queen asked him to brim his brother, aka "Henry the Wild", back to their home, Nicholas will have the chance to let loose a little before his time is over and he's asked to choose a wife. Henry is in the United States partying every day as if the world is about to end, and his brother has to find him and carry him back to Wessco. Meanwhile, Nicholas will have to attend a bunch of boring meetings, parties and visit charities supported by his family.

One day, after a lot of drinks, Prince Nicholas met Olivia.

She's a modern day version of Cinderella, but without the nasty step-sisters or the bitching step-mother. She's beautiful inside and out, she loves her family and sacrifices her time and her dreams to take care of them by running the family bussiness, a little cafe where she prepare pies. She's also stubborn, so when a handsome stranger offers to pay for a night of sex, she just slap him in the face with a pie and walk away. No matter if that stranger is sexy as hell. It doesn't matter if he's rich... or a prince.

But Nicholas comes back to the café and apologise to Olivia for his behavior. He also asks her for a date. Olivia has it hard because she likes him, and he's so handsome and funny that's hard to resist.

They started to hang out and have fun. They started to know each other, to talk about their plans and their dreams, to share things that were important for them, and little by little they were falling in love.

They spend a lot of time together, but time is a luxury that Prince Nicholas haven't anymore. He has to go back to Wessco and face his destiny. Nicholas has to choose between love and duty, and it's not an easy choice.

Royally Screwed was a sweet and lovely romantic comedy. I loved every single page of this modern fairytale. I laughed with the characters, also I cried a little bit. Nicholas and Olivia were a wonderful couple, but the secondary characters were lovely too. I particularly loved Franny and Simon, Logan (one of the security men), Henry and Olivia's sister: Ellie. I had a great time reading this book, it was all I expected it to be and more.

ABOUT ROYALLY SCREWED:

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka “His Royal Hotness,” is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant―hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.
There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately―the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia―Nicholas is worth it.

Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King... or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.
